Produced by QMusic, the Queensland Music Awards is a state-wide search for the best songs by Queensland songwriters and musicians. Entries open in October every year, with the awards announced at a gala event the following March.

Artists from regional and metropolitan Queensland are recognised for their contributions to the rich history of Queensland songwriting. Awards are given across a broad spectrum of genres and categories, celebrating the contribution of both emerging and established songwriters.

The inaugural Queensland Music Awards took place in 2011, building on the success of its previous incarnation Q Song to recognise a broader diversity of the state’s talent.

The Queensland Music Awards are judged by music industry professionals from all over the world. This rare opportunity for exposure to music industry influencers gives all entrants the chance to catapult their careers into national significance.

The 2017 Queensland Music Awards are presented by Hutchinson Builders, and is produced by QMusic with support from APRA AMCOS.
