Celebrating our brightest emerging artists and established legends, the QMAs are a state-wide search for Queensland’s best music. Spanning 13 self-nominating categories including Pop, Rock, Blues / Roots, Country, Hip-Hop / Rap, Electronic / Dance, Heavy, Video and Schools.
Queensland songwriters can enter their songs in a wide range of self-nominating categories of the 2019 Queensland Music Awards to be eligible for the $20,000 Song of The Year promotional prize courtesy of The Music & NOVA 106.9.
Now in its second year, the prize was won in 2018 by Jeremy Neale, who was recently honoured with a plaque on Fortitude Valley’s Walk of Fame to commemorate the achievement.
The prize features promotional support to the value of $20,000 to assist with momentum and is awarded annually to the Song of The Year recipient.

A recording grant for early career artists, the scholarship, named in honour of the late Billy Thorpe was designed to help develop the future of rock and roll. The Scholarship is for an emerging musician or band over 18. You must be a Qld resident and in the early stages of developing your career.
Queensland songwriters have a one-week extension to enter their songs & videos in the 2019 QMAs. The new deadline is midnight Monday November 19, 2018, providing a grace period for those racing to the finish line on new work.
Queensland musicians will have their music heard by prominent music industry executives, festival programmers, booking agents, A&R, radio personalities and tastemakers representing an outstanding breadth and depth of experience. Enter your song into the 2019 Qld Music Awards by Nov 12.

The 7th annual Queensland Music Awards will return to the Royal International Convention Centre at Brisbane Showgrounds on Tuesday 19 March, 2019, celebrating what will have been an incredible 2018 for Queensland music. Entries are now open, submit your songs before 12 November!
Applications are now open for the 2019 Billy Thorpe Scholarship, funded by the Queensland Government and administered by QMusic. Now in its 11th year, the award provides $10,000 for an emerging artist to record with an established producer, and receive career-planning advice from Chugg Entertainment. Apply before 12 November.
