Celebrating our brightest emerging artists and established legends, the QMAs are a state-wide search for Queensland’s best music. Spanning 13 self-nominating categories including Pop, Rock, Blues / Roots, Country, Hip-Hop / Rap, Electronic / Dance, Heavy, Video and Schools.
Queensland songwriters have today been gifted a one-week extension to enter their songs & videos in the 2019 Queensland Music Awards.
The new deadline is midnight Monday November 19, 2018, providing a grace period for those racing to the finish line on new work.
Already the 2019 awards have enjoyed a flood of published and unpublished entries across 13 self-nominating genre categories. And with the recent announcement of a $20,000 promotional prize, courtesy of The Music & NOVA 106.9, the QMAs present a unrivalled opportunity for musicians from across the state, to catapult their careers onto a national stage.
Adding to the appeal, over 70 music industry executives have been enlisted to uncover Queensland’s best new music, including programmers and tastemakers from across Australia. Songwriters will have their music heard by representatives from BIGSOUND, Double J, Woodford, Bluesfest, Dew Process, Billboard, Native Tongue Music Publishing, and Frontier Touring to name a few.
“Queensland artists shouldn't miss this rare opportunity to showcase their gifts to the world. The QMAs have a rich history of unearthing hitherto completely unrecognised talent - we never know what new faces will grace the stage on the awards night, and go on to bigger and better things.”
