23 November

Things are sure heating up for 2018! After a wonderful three years at the Brisbane Powerhouse, Queensland music’s night of nights will be moving to a new home courtesy of Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC), Brisbane Showgrounds.

Always reflecting the society growing around it, the RNA has long been an integral element of Queensland life. The rich history of this iconic and revered site is etched into Queensland's social heritage. Every generation from the very first Ekka in 1876 to today, has warm memories of attending an event here or witnessing history.

The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) has worked to promote and encourage the state’s cultural heritage for a huge 142 years!

It owns and operates the Brisbane Showgrounds including the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC), which hosts around 300 events each year, including many music festivals such as Livid Festival, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival and Gizzfest. The RNA provides leading event facilities to cater for festivals from 2,000 to 25,000 people, supporting artists and music fans across the state.

The RNA runs the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) on behalf of the community each August, including staging a Country Music Showdown Competition, encouraging the development of new Queensland talent in the arts. By investing in Queensland Music the RNA is continuing to invest in the state’s cultural heritage and unearth Queensland talent!

The QMA’s is proud to become part of the showgrounds rich history.

The 2018 Queensland Music Awards will be held at the Royal ICC, Brisbane Showgrounds on Monday, 14 May. Tickets will be available to the general public via Oztix, early next year.
